Georgia Received BSEC’s Permissions
The Main Committee of BSEC has made decision to issue BSEC’s new permissions and 200 copies have been sent in Georgia and other states – Albania, Romania, Armenia, Moldavia, Serbia and Turkey.
The permission issued by BSEC gives the right to each state’s carrier to pass the listed 6 countries’ territory without applying for other bilateral transit permission.
For receiving of the permission it should be applied for the United Transport Administration (UTA) of Georgia.

From February 10th air company ‘Armavia’ will renew its flights towards Tbilisi-Yerevan.
On January 15th air company ‘Armavia’ cancelled its flights without any definitions. On February 2nd the said air company officially applied for flights update to the United Transport Administration (UTA) of Georgia.
The United Transport Administration (UTA) of Georgia accepted its demand.
Air company ‘Armavia’ operated on air route Tbilisi-Yerevan (twice a day) and will operate in the same schedule from February 10th.

The United Transport Administration of Georgia announced a new initiative
The License on regular international transportation has been abolished from the “Georgian Law on License and Permission”. This regards only to air lines, where there is a restriction on flight frequencies and number of aircarriers.
Governmental agreements between Georgia and foreign countries in the field of air service, as a rule, consider establishing procedures instead of issuing a license.
Within the meeting held in Khopa the representatives of United Transport Administration discussed the emerged problems over the utilization of Turkish permissions for the International road carriage
On January 14-15 2010, the enlarged meeting was held with participation of the representatives of Road Transport Department of Georgia, Head of Khopa Region Customs Service, Members of Chamber of Commerce of Turkey and leadership of Sarpi Customs Service. During the negotiations, Georgian Side has pointed out some problematic issues, in response to which Turkish Side expressed its full readiness to overcome existing barriers for Georgian carrier-entrepreneurs in utilization of above-mentioned permissions.

EC experts in the field of civil aviation visit United Transport Administration
United Transport Administration of Georgia hosts the delegation of EC experts in the field of civil aviation. The aim of the visit is acquainting to the relevant legislation of Georgia and in providing appropriate assistance. EC experts are conducting seminars for Georgian aviation specialists, regarding harmonization of related legislation in compliance with European norms.
Within the above-mentioned seminars, Georgian specialists were informed about the current experiences of European Union in the field of aircraft certification and in process of licensing.
On January 21, EC experts leave Georgia.
